【歌詞和訳】Good Riddance(Time of Your Life) / Green Day
今週のお題「卒業」
ご無沙汰しております。
卒業の季節ですね！少し寒さも和らいできて、過ごしやすくなっています。
そんなことはさて置き、卒業シーズンです。いよいよ僕も大学院を卒業し、１社会人となりますが、そんな時にぴったりの曲を見つけた(敬愛するマンウィズのタナパイが紹介していた)ので、コロナなんかに負けず紹介していきます。
タイトルにある通り、Green DayのGood Riddance(Time of Your Life)です。意味は厄介払い(Good Riddance)です。本来は、恋人と別れた時にビリージョーが書いた曲ということですが、ネガティブな意味ではなく、これからの相手の幸せを願う曲になっていて、アメリカなどでは、卒業式やプロム(パーティ)で歌われるそうです。
ちなみに歌詞にも登場するhave the time of your life は enjoy yourselfと同義で、幸せな時間を過ごすとか楽しむという意味になります。

言わずと知れた名曲です。
この曲のブライアン誰を指してるんでしょうか。調べると出てきました。

わずかな日本語の歌詞から，終焉の使徒や煉獄の主といった厨二心をくすぐるワードが出てきます．
この世界からの脱却を歌い，終焉や煉獄といった言葉で一見死を望んでいるようにも思いますが，実際には生まれ変わりたい，死ぬ気でやることで覚醒してやるんだといった熱い思いが込められれいる考察します．
